Service Day L. A.
LOS ANGELES – As part of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’ focused efforts to clean up the city, Mayor Bass hosted the second Service Day LA today, a community clean-up and beautification effort bringing together more than 200 volunteers to clean nearby parks, businesses and homes in South L.A. The City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works supported the clean-up by removing illegal dumping and bulky items, planting trees, filling potholes and conducting other maintenance activities.
“Today’s Service Day L.A. is about building momentum to clean our city and prepare to host the world in the coming years for the World Cup and the Olympic and Paralympic Games," said Mayor Karen Bass. “I am incredibly grateful to our partners, community members and volunteers who came out on a Saturday morning to make a cleaner, safer Los Angeles.”
